Quicktime In System Tray?
Every time i turn on my computer, Quicktime is always in the System Tray. This annoys me because i don't use it that often so i right-click the icon and click "Exit." It's also annoying to do it every time i turn on my computer(i know about Standby so i don't want that to b the solution).
The Quicktime Player doesn't actually load but having Quicktime in the System Tray load automatically, it slows down my computer.
I went to Start --> All Programs --> Startup and Quicktime wasn't there.
I opened Quicktime and went to the prefrences but couldn't find a way to stop this.(i don't know, maybe i missed something
How do i stop Quicktime from loading on to my System Tray?

Click START then RUN and type in MSCONFIG
This will open up the system Configuration Window. Click on STARTUP and unclick the boxes affiliated with QuickTime. Then click APPLY and restart the computer.
NOTE: Be carefull when taking items out of the System Configuration.... some items are needed when you start up.

I was going to try and explain another way to do it, but I'm afraid I might be wrong.

Here's something that might be helpful.
UNINSTALL QUICKTIME AND GET QUICKTIME ALTERNATIVE.
It'll run via WMP and you won't have the annoyances of Quicktime.

First, quit quicktime by right clicking on it in the systray and selecting exit. Otherwise it will undo what we are about to do next.
Go to Start->Run
Type in regedit
Expand the following nodes of the tree:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Microsoft
Windows
Current Version
Run
After you click on "Run" you should see a bunch of entries on the right. Right click on the one that says "QuickTime Task" and select Delete.

Go to the start menu and click on run, then type msconfig. This brings up 'system configuration utility'. Click on 'startup' and untick whatever you don't want to start up with windows, in this case I think it's 'qttask'.
Hope this helps
