Hello! The file is opening in Notepad because your system doesn't recognise the file type, so it has no application associated with it. Obviously Notepad is not going to be able to interpret the data and display the graphics so you will have to either: 1: Get a program that will open it or 2: Get someone to convert it into a file type you can view 1: You don't mention the file type but I'm guessing AutoCAD, TurboCAD, SolidWorks or something similar will open it. Save up and buy one or download it from torrentspy or isohunt. 2: Send me the file - kaibosh_23@yahoo.co.uk - I can convert it to, erm, let me see - PDF is probably best for you as it retains infinite detail (it's not a bitmap like JPG or GIF). Good luck! KaiBosh

I wonder if it is because you are opening it directly by double clicking it? If you right click on it do you get an option to 'open with' at all...there may be an application you have that can open it from a list your PC will offer. You may have the other application set as the 'default' one i.e. wordpad and you haven't told the PC to use a different type of application to open it. Also try using your normal application after you have downloaded the attachment to your desktop and select 'file' then 'open' and go to the desktop area of your files. Good luck!!

You need the CadKey Reader or E-Drawings reader program.

right click on the file choose "open with" then select the application (CAD) that you want to open it with if you don't have CAD software or any other software that can view CAD files then you are out of luck
