sometimes it will boot up just fine and sometimes it will boot up just to the point that it recognises the keyboard, then beep two or three times, then the monitor will have a no signal detected.I have checked all my cables and defraged the drive.Anyone have any suggestions?

To know your beeps-- http://www.sysopt.com/tutorials/article.php/3552501 BIOS Error Beeps, Messages, and Codes Information about the computer BIOS http://www.computerhope.com/help/bios.htm#support Look for leaking or bulging capacitors on the motherboard. http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=195 Some pictures of them

Is it a beep from the PC or the audio speakers you installed? If its from the PC then its the BIOS thats beeping. Its warning you that something is wrong with your hardware. The number of beeps tells you which piece of hardware is having trouble. Refer to your motherboard user manual (if its a Dell or Gateway call them - they don't use standard motherboards). Apart from that it sounds like there may be a problem with your memory (possible corruption in 1 of the modules)
