What are the best programs to learn?

2006-08-14 23:02:52, Category: Programming & Design
Best in terms of efficiency also? What are the easy programs to learn? I know a little HTML, I've been told to learn SQL, but it looks pretty difficult. Any suggestions? Actually I know photoshop already. I worked for a digital photography company, so I'm actually quite good at it, but there's little money in it. To clarify, I'm looking for something that will give me a stable foundation for computer programming and give me some stability financially. Databasing seems to be the need right now.

Efficiency, 'C++' and Assembler are VERY efficient but very hard to learn. Being good at these will make you 100,000/year US. HTML is fairly easy so you'll have more competition. Java is a little harder. MS Visual Basic has a BIG market share, not too difficult and you can make $50-60,000 US. SQL itself is not too difficult BUT understanding databases and what makes good code is very difficult but less than 'C' and assembler. I know a man who is VERY good with LARGE databases and make well over $100,000 US. It really matters wht you want to do? Is this for a future job? How much time do you have to studybefore full time work? I might go with MS VB (Java would help too and they are similar), get a decent paying job then go for the 'C' and assembler languages if your a serious programmer. A student edition of MS's development package would be worth looking into. You might get a deal on one that works with just about every language mentioned except the Java part might not be Sun's 'Official' command set. Good Luck, Levi Patrick II TheITDoctor.com
