I belong to an organization in which our colors are red and white. The president wants our logo in red all around the document. She has already typed up the agenda - in RED.
I am suggesting that there is too much red and that all that red on a white document will be too hard on the eyes. I cannot find a specific rule in desktop publishing that suggest limiting how much red should be used.
Any information you can share with me will be very helpful!

There are no hard an fast rules that you can apply that are written down somewhere. It's more a set of general guidelines, what I do when clients want something awful like all red is to tell them, that the use of more red than the logo will detract from the distinctiveness of the logo, and water it down. This is a good way around "that's butt ugly" without saying it. That said red is a vibrant color, too much of it, especially in type, creates a vibration in peoples eyes that is uncomfortable after a period of reading.
