Does India restrict number of notebook computers a tourist can bring in?

I want to bring two notebook computers into India as a tourist and then mail them to friends. Can I do that without paying additional customs or tariffs? btw, about how much is it to mail two notebook computers within India (not from outside of India)?

    You can get just one notebook computer. For the second one, you need to pay customs duty.

    The import duty for bringing laptops into India is zero. However you are limited to 1 laptop per passenger. Regarding how much it is to mail the laptops within India is a very dicey question to answer because different carriers will charge different amounts I suggest you try BLUE DART once you come to India. www.bluedart.com Hope this helps
