I have done MCA and having programming knowledge.?

I have intrest in web site designing and developing. Till noe I developed four web site using html , front page and flash (for effects). Now I would like to developed a web site by java. Is it possible to learn directly java applets without having knowledge of java script language. Please tell clearly.

    HAI *, javascript is a scripting language,to give some additional fun. to websites.Java is a high -end programming language.So u can move with Java wihout the knowledge of Java.But if u know some scripting language,it will b easy 4 u. Good luck

    Since you have done your MCA, I guess you have exposure to a programming langauge like C,C++ and JAVA. You dont have to learn Javascript to work with java applets. But learning java script helps you to do more on your web pages. I would suggest you learn java script as well with Java Applets.

    java and javascript are 2 completely different languages. So to answer your question, yes, it is possible to learn java without knowledge of javascript. Try checking out sun.com. THe beans IDE is a good place to start, and their site is chock full of information. You'll also find a lot of java tutorials online if you just do a little creative looking for them. And before I hit submit... If you don't know there is a difference between java and javascript, I have to question your "programming knowledge." Also, Using Front Page to make a website is not making a website. Well, it is, but that software is next to worthless. There are a lot better programs out there that will write the html for you and track your source libraries better. I'd say getting rid of Front Page is the very first thing you should do.
