How can i fully restore my Dell Inspiron 1100 to its factory setttings and programs.?

How can i do this. I've done a full system restore on another computer,but on my dell i can only restore the OS (which is one the disk Windows XP Home Edtion SP1.)Is there a way where it deletes eveything and restores ONLY the factory settings and programs. I ONLY have a Windows XP Home Edtion SP1 OS restore disk, Dell inpiron 1100 Device drivers. I do not have any other restore disks. Also i did get this straight from dell! Current Specs: Dell Inspiron 1100 2.4Ghz Intel Pentium 4 Windows XP Home Edtion SP2 CD/RW and DVD-ROM Optical Drive. Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 Windows Media Player 11 Beta Linksys devices used.

    contact dell, or reinstall windows, that will reformat your hard drive to the factory settings, but all data on the drive will be lost

    You cannot restore XP SP1 on a computer that has already been upgraded to SP2. You need to call Dell to get an updated OS CD. Alternatively, buy a new harddisk (similar to the existing one), replace old HD with the new one, and run Dell restore on the new HD. It should work. I've done it before on a non-Dell PC. But should anything go wrong, simply swap back to the old harddisk.

    you need to insert the restore cd into the cd rom while computer is on...restart the computer and at welcome screen pick option to do a complete restore..follow onscreen instructions from there
