I have a 2004 Dell notebook. i had to reinstal the os many times. it just keep crashing. I'll be playing a game and it will turn off. If I turn in on it goes to the windows screen and restarts over and over agen. I have norton 2006. There's not bugs on computer. I don't think it overheats. It don't blue screen. I'll just be in the middle of a game and than it restarts. It don't say it going to restart it just goes black. I tryed reinstalling the os many time and formated my hard drive every time. I don't install anything else. Just the drivers and Norton. No game no updates no mp3 programs nothing. Now it won't let me in stall the os at all. I think it's time for this dell to get kicked out the door.

sounds dodgy, it could be overheating, conflicting software, a virus anything really. Id format the drive and start again. keep it basic dont load everything back on. monitor it's progress and if it's fine load programs on one at a time. if it faults with just the basic OS it's possible that it could be a hardware thing. try to do things in a logical order an so you can pin point the problem hope this helped.

Unless you have some of the symptoms listed here: http://www.data-recovery.tv you probably have a bad stick of ram. Is it still under warranty?

Restarts over and over again huh? Read this from McAfee's website. Removal Instructions AVERT DATS Use specified engine and DAT files (or later) for detection and removal. In addition to the DAT version requirements for detection, the specified engine version (or greater) must also be used. McAfee Intrushield Sigsets released on Aug 9th, 2005 will detect this as: DCERPC: Microsoft Plug and Play Service Buffer Overflow (0x47602000) Stinger Stinger has been updated to help detect and repair this threat. McAfee Managed VirusScan Buffer Overflow Protection blocks the worm from exploiting vulnerable systems. McAfee Entercept McAfee Entercept prevents the vulnerable system from being exploited with Level 1 protection enabled. McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0i Buffer Overflow Protection blocks the worm from exploiting vulnerable systems. Additionally, systems running VirusScan Enterprise with the "Prevent creation of new files in the System32 folder (.exe)" access protection rule set to "Block access" will be protected from infection, though the buffer overflow may still occur on unpatched systems. Note: this rule if set to all processes will also block legitimate updates to files in the Windows directory, such as when applying security patches, so will need to be disabled while such legitimate activity is occurring.
