What Features In Linux Do You Use Most?
I am learning how to compile linux in different ways and need input on what people use and don't use in there current version of linux.
I suspect first answer refers to compling Linux kernel. Is that what you are asking? Many applications are downloaded in source version, which also requires compiling. so you need to specify what you mean.
I use all the usual tools. Web; e-mail; CD burning; LyX; I have 1100+ books from the Gutenberg project, and I read them; solitaire (linux has dozens of them). I don't do games.

Everyone uses the features which are present in their own specific hardware. When you do "make menuconfig" you can deselect those features not supported in your hardware. It makes the kernel slightly smaller and
marginally faster (not really worth the trouble, really).
